There is a set layout for this quilt, hence the varied number of blocks ... however you are under no obligation to follow it.

What would everyone like me to do ... wait until a set time for the Big Reveal ... say the Beginning of October??

Or email you privately with the layout, under terms of strict secrecy,  when you have finished the blocks to prevent you having to wait unnecessarily ??

Assembly has stalled on mine as my foot pedal well truly died (tho' I think it was pushed  >:) ) and Im hoping the new one will be here by the weekend when I will finish the top and start the layering.

Also still havent thought of a way to stretch four 54" x 3" strips to border a 64" sq quilt ... Without halving them lengthwise of course

Any suggestions ????????

Add 5” of contrast to either end of strip.

Personally I reckon it's a lot simpler for you to do one reveal- you do have  a life outside TSP and faffing about with oneatatime emails will take a lot of it. Just my thought. :D

I will just go with the Flo and wait for the grand reveal,
I should have the final blocks finished by the end of the week and have backing fabric and a couple of ideas of what to do but will wait and see.

I can't wait to see the layout. I have done all my blocks and had a play but so far can't get a satisfactory layout.  It's the three blocks I am struggling to place

The Reveal is set for Sunday 3rd October!

Mine wont be quilted (or even layered and backed by then) but it is pieced and I will be changing the pieced border that Im so unhappy with to one I am happy with.

I am preparing to bind my quilt. I watched a video from Missouri Quilting, she started by stitching the binding to the back of the quilt so that it was easy to see where to stitch on the front.  Is this a good way to bind a quilt?

I love binding ... and I break all the rules !!!!

2 1/2" cut ??/ Pfff! Phoeey ... lets have a 5" cut one!!!

Stitch a 1/4" from the raw edges ?? Balderdash ... Lets make that an inch!!!

From the back ! Raspberry blown at that .. lets stitch it to the front!!!!

Your quilt ... Your binding!

The things you have to think about are ...

Are there any blocks whose points will be cut off ? If so, stitch to the front at a distance that misses all those precious points and turn to the back.

If you want a thin binding Front to back ... the bigger portion will be on the back
if you want a wider binding Back to front

Are you handstitching it down .. either side the hand stitches dont go all the way through the quilt ..

If you're machine stitching it down you need to think about the fact that the stitching will show on the other side of the quilt ... if its going to be seen on a plain border No Problem ... across blocks maybe you want to stitch it down on the front where you can control where the stitches are placed.

Thanks @Iminei
I have already cut the binding 2 5/8th wide and pressed it in half.
I can't handstitch so will be machining it. There is one quilted star that comes close to the edge. I have a double border so the blocks are all safe.  Will have a think

Dont worry yourself over one (out of ??? how many) star coming close to the edge ...

That will be the Imperfection required by God to prove you are merely mortal! :)

I love love love Machine stitching my bindings dow and use a buttonhole stitch  ... SL 3 SW 3 ..Looks good!
