Split embroidery designs

I’m having a play today on the chapter about making big designs, and stitching them in sections. I think it’s going to be another of those chapters where a lot of wordage gives you ‘the fear’, but hopefully where it will be easier in practice. Fingers crossed. Here we go.

Once you’ve done it it becomes clearer than trying to read it.   :)

I didn’t do very well. Will try again tomorrow.

Finished. Not too bad. (Ignore the orange threads, they are just place markers).

Taken me all afternoon though, and I wouldn’t say I was secure in my positioning knowledge yet.

Glad it’s done.

When you say "split design' is that one where the machine does part of it & then you re-hoop or move the hoop for the next part?
You can't scare me. I taught high school for 32 years.

@Sara-S For this one, it was a design in the tutorial, which when imported showed up as four quadrants. The main fabric had to be moved and the pattern realigned to do each of the quarters.

Next stage is to make my own design and introduce my own splits. That will wait until I’m feeling brave.

Looks good, I don't think I'd have the patience to try split designs.
