Love those peplums - did you cut new bigger pieces to reach the centre back seam?  I wondered if in the pattern drafting they'd matched the width of the back half with the front half, bearing in mind the fronts only go to the darts not the centre?  If that makes sense?  Difficult colour to put a blouse with, would need to be a paler shade of the background colour, but the blouse you've put with it works.  Super work!  :)

I couldn't re-cut, I had no more fabric, so they got little pieces added at the front [narrower]

The peplum pieces are drafted in one curve, and looking at the original pattern source, you don't really relate it to front/back measurements, just to total waist.  My scaled down draft worked out fine form the instructions, no idea what RH did!  By all the other errors that either I've found, or others have told me about, she is just crap at drafting and should not be putting these things out untested.

I will continue the search for the perfect blouse match.  Someone on my blog suggested blush pink, but I don't really do pink!

Look at moda grunge fabrics. They are properly beautiful. Textured without being a pattern. I used some in this bargello https://goo.gl/photos/i12MJPboYRktrKmcA nearly all of the plain fabrics are moda grunge and they come in a whole host of shades - I just used the greeny/blue ones. There are a couple of nice "beige" ones iirc.

It's a really impressive skirt, so sorry about all of the hassle you went through, but at least you managed to get a usuable skirt out of it!

What a satisfactory ending.  A lovely skirt, and a refund!  :)

Well done on your perseverance!

Jessie, who is very happy to be here!!  :),  but who has far too many sewing machines to be healthy, and a fabric stash which is becoming embarrassing.

What about tea-stained white silk?
