Bernina Old Style feet Compatible
« on: February 09, 2021, 15:01:40 PM »
Hi,
I attach pictures of some  Bernina old style feet, as follows:
No: 0, 6, 3, 000, 007, 168.
Does anyone know if all these feet can be used on the Minimatic 807 AND the Bernina 1001 ?

thanks in advance.

They will fit both, I think,  but check the stitch width.  The 1001 does 5mm wide stitches and the 807 does 4mm stitches. All should be OK on the 807.   Check the width of the hole on the foot is enough for the hole in the needle plate on the 1001. If you try a 5mm stitch on 4mm foot....
Yarn down:  1000g
Fabric down:  29m

I'd say the first photo definitely use on the 807 fine, the second photo, thinner pins ok for the 1001. I have a 1080 and can't use the feet from my 830 record and couldn't use these feet on a 1015 I had. Happy to be proved wrong.

FYI - I've put these feet up for sale in the For Sale post in case anyone is interested in them.

The feet that have the fitting style with the skinny pins were brought out for the 1000 series and above until they changed several series later to the 'new style' still used on current machines.

The skinny pin type (aka old style) was made backwards compatible so they'll work on both your machines while the fatter pins style (aka old-old style) will only work for 900 series and lower.

My machines all use the old style but I hear users of older models say that keeping to the old-old style can be preferable for best performance.
Hopefully back more regularly! Ballroom sewing may be permanently paused but bag making is the current focus.
