@Lowena I have only just got back to this thread.

Basically it is applique, I just used iron-on interfacing as the glue, you could easily use 505 on to a plain fabric for the back.

Ah, thank you @Lilian  It's lovely.I can do hand sewn applique but am not clever enough to attempt machine applique. @Iminei tried to teach me once

This was mostly just straight lines so not difficult.  Would be a good starting project.

I folded the fabric on to the templates as you would, I used the tin foil method pressing firmly as I go.  Then take out the template and press again.   ??????? 

Isnt that how you put highlights in your hair .. with tinfoil???

Haha @Iminei Laying the fabric and template on top of a larger piece of foil, it is easy to use the foil to lift up the fabric to turn the fold, and when pressed give a sharper crease

This was a new technique for me, I found a way to do the hexies without any hand sewing
