Little machine-big shirt

I wanted to embroider a polo shirt to wear at archery club events.  My machine does 4” x 4” which is fine for the design I wanted.  The challenges (for someone of my limited experience) were A)placement and B)getting a plus-size shirt under the machine without accidentally sewing over some part I didn’t want to sew.

But I did it! I took some good advice & printed the design, pinned it on the shirt and then floated it on the stabilizer. (Yes, I removed the paper, before I started to sew.) I took care to bunch up the parts that were not getting sewn, so they were not under the needle.  Here it is;

Looks very good - is everyone else going to want one now?
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

Thanks for the encouraging words.  I have since bought some big hair clips & a riser for the machine. (See machine accessories for pics.) I wanted to test them out, so I did this pajama top.
Jesse Bear is modeling it.

Having a bit more fun, I embroidered a stegosaurus on this polo shirt. Blank polos are boring.

Tempted to buy an embroidery machine?  They are fun, though it’s one more thing to take up space & spend money on.

I found a polo shirt in my closet, that managed to escape the clutches of my embroidery machine. We can’t have that. Here it is, modeled by Wally Llama.

A little explanation for the choice; My last name is SIlverman.  Until I became a teacher, I thought it was a pretty easy name to spell or say.  I quickly discovered all the ways students could get it wrong (e.g. Silverstein, Goldman, etc.). My usual reminder was, “It’s like the superhero. Look, up in the sky! It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s SILVER MAN!”  They usually got it right, after that.
