Inserting snaps

The finishing touch for my jacket is to apply snaps to the lapels and hem.  It needs quite heavy duty snaps.  Can anybody recommend a tool/device which will do his?  I’ve used a hammer and the tools which come with snaps before with less then good results.

I do indeed have the Prym Vario Pliers.  The pictorial leaf lets that come with them make no sense at all but I found a you tube video  (I think it was from the manufacturer) and it all made sense.  I use them a lot, in fact I am wearing a jersey cardigan with snaps that I made about 3  years ago.  All snaps are still in situ.

I bought the Vario pliers then realised mine didn't come with the right inserts for the job. So I used the thread spool + hammer method as shown here: https://doitbetteryourself.club/blog/how-to-install-snaps-without-fancy-equipment/ and it worked fine. Mine were Pearl snaps, not heavy duty. One of these days I might master the Vario...
