A lil light relief

A lil light relief
« on: March 20, 2021, 08:34:52 AM »
A few weeks ago I purchased this from a girl off faceache who makes things with flotsam and jetsom from the Northumberland coast .. I saw it and adored it, so bought it ... initially as a birthday gift for a friend but ... Nah! its not going anywhere .. I added the button windows (they were painted on) and it sits on the mantlepiece in the dining room.

As my forays into the Darkside recently have revolved around quilting, not only quilting the enormous thing but the Advent Advent and now the other smaller and more time sensitive thing I decided a lil light relief from all the interminable quilting was in order....

So I thought I would try a lil applique ....

Both are really lovely - don't forget your washing line on the applique!  Just thinking, could you not sew the washing down, but just sew on the corners, like it would be pegged on the line?

That is lovely I like the original piece but I like your quilted one better.  I thinka bit of light relief is what a lot of us need at the moment.
