Just completed this 25 piece Jalie 2795 zip cardi in French terry print and cotton lycra plain, colour blocked. I took my inspiration from this great example and the fabrics are from my all too static stash.

I reduced collar length by an inch, similarly the bodice length, also 2" off the sleeves which are still quite long. No other changes as it's a great fit, thanks Jalie. Can't wait to make another one now. It's just a pity that - as Hawk-eye aka DH pointed out - my birds would appear to be mostly flying upside down!! Duh :S - at 2 metres hopefully no one will notice .

I like that @Vezelay I've been fancying something like that for casual wear and it's got a shoulder seam in, some haven't.

What birds, he's seeing things that aren't there.

Just had a look it doesn't have  a shoulder seam in, at least not the 'round one'.

It's actually a raglan sleeve @Gernella, not set in, but please don't let that put you off. I've made a few of this type from different patterns and this is my new favourite.  I should also mention it has a ton of top stitching which seemed ott at the time but gives the jacket a nice professional finish.

Looking fabulous, @Vezelay !  I have made a dress from that print - it's hummingbirds - but I think my fabric was viscose jersey.  Gorgeous.

Aha! I checked and humming birds are in fact known to fly upside down. Just as I thought  0_0.

From memory I've only every had them in handmade cardigans @Vezelay .  I always think they make me look round shouldered, and you know what it's like when you get an idea in your head.
