I do like skirts but not quite sure about this:

I like it except for the big pockety thing, I don't want to look wider on the hips.
Is it detachable?

I think it’s a good design for the times we’re living in.  Not keen myself but I can see a lot of thought went into it.

The big pocket is detachable.  I like it, I think it's a good design but if i needed all that practical pocketing I would most likely be doing something for which a skirt isn't suitable.
Life's too short for ironing.

Interesting. You can omit all of that, but then it's just an aline. You probably already have one if you sew skirts.

It's patterned after a growing trend of what's called a utility kilt or skirt. Those are growing in popularity with mostly younger men.
