I've had this pattern and fabric in my stash for years so it's about time they were put to some use. Its a bit jazzy for me but it's a lovely quality fine French Terry from Girl Charlee (when they had a UK outlet) and having worn it during an outdoors chat today it's grown on me.

This pattern has been around a long time and is dead easy and a fast sew. Made a straight size 4, no alterations except for shortening the sleeves 2", and the fit is exactly as I'd hoped.

I love the comfort and practicality of wearing sweatshirts, so going to make a couple more of these now. It's not summer here yet!

It looks great on you, warm and comfy too for these chilly spring days. Did you use a ribbed fabric for the cuffs?

@Silver Rose thanks, yes cotton/lycra ribbing for cuffs, neckband and waistband, another stash item.

Ooh that is lovely.  Looks nice for the current non-spring  we are having. Just to note if anyone needs ribbing fabric Immanuels has several colours at £2 pm via their FB page.  :)

That looks lovely. Your fabric really works as a chic sweatshirt.

I've just had a quick peek on the Grainline Studio's website. They do really nicely shaped basics. Very tempting.  :)

Another Linden in plain cotton/lycra. Took a 3/8" s/a this time instead of 1/4" to cater for stretchier fabric and topstitched the raglan seams. Not very exciting I know but I'll wear it loads.

I love the colour. I would wear it loads too if it were mine.

I've made a note of what you said about using a different seam allowance to cater for the stretchier fabric. I'm such a novice when it comes to sewing knits; it's great to read the details of how accomplished TSPers sew their projects.  :)

Thanks @Lemon Syllabub. Sometimes you would sew a size down for stretchier fabric but I decided not to for a two reasons: firstly I didn't want the bother of tracing out new pattern pieces; and from previous experience I'm paranoid about making garments uncomfortably small. I've ruined some gorgeous fabric doing that. I decided that I wanted a slouchy sweatshirt and that's exactly what I got.

But it's amazing how different fabric behaves for the same pattern - easy to get caught out.

That shade of blue looks terrific on you, as does the sweatshirt pattern.
