Your fabric, @Catllar was the same size as every else’s.  And very pretty, too.

Good, good! I get confused with inches now and centimetres - doesn't take much  :S

OK so here's my fabric:  [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

I've washed and pressed it and cut it up only to find I didn't order enough, so one of the packages contains another fabric that goes with.

I received two pieces from @Catllar  - one of the lovely multi colour and one with the plainer green.  I will endeavour to include both fabrics in both blocks.

First block made and so far so good. 0_0  I think I am going to make each block different depending on how the different fabrics talk to me.

I guess we are not going to post piccies of the blocks until after @RJR_38 has received them all and sent back out again so that it's a surprise when we receive them.

I was thinking we wouldn’t see each other’s blocks until they are all done, but I don’t know for sure

@BrendaP Has this fabric got too much white in it to be acceptable?

Oh that’s good. I was pleased because it has so many of your colours, but your piece had no white. I’ll use it then.

Well... it is up to all of you obviously but for me, a big part of the fun would be seeing the blocks made and pics posted as we go. That would be why I would start an album like the one I shared above. That's how the one I borrowed the idea from works anyway. It might also persuade the 'lurkers' to join next time haha!

However, if you all want to go down the surprise route I'm happy to go with the majority.

I have to admit I haven't started any blocks yet, I got a bit too involved in my EPP while sitting in the garden this weekend

@RJR_38  you are the organiser, so you say what we do.

If you choose to put a gallery online somewhere, rather than photos in messages it would then be down to individuals to actively click on the link to see them, so the surprise element could still be there if anyone doesn't want to see what will be coming their way though it would make a bit of extra work for you.

I got my second block finished today.

That's perfect.I must have underordered so the green is an addition. I was sure I'd bought 1.5 metres of the print, so was surprised I didn't have enough!

Here's a little teaser pic! I have this SCRAP (looks like someone cut a curved piece out.. it wasn't me! I probably got it in a fabric remnant grab bag) of batik that I can cut part of a block from. It's so rewarding to get just what you need from a scrap, but also nerve wracking, because you can't just cut more if you mess it up!

And there's some bonus tiny HSTs from off cuts. Don't know if those will get used up or not.

I made a block up yesterday. Looked at it this morning and a triangle was in  < this way instead of > that way. We are not talking tiny triangles. We are talking big edge piece triangles. How I didn’t notice it yesterday??? Makes me worried about what else will slip through.  It wouldn’t normally matter, but these are for you experts to pick over.  Think I need some Kalms.

@fajita I'm far from an expert! Every block I make, I'm shocked I actually made it. I have been giving my seam ripper a workout... and three times in a row, I cut double the HSTs I needed. With the extras (offcut triangles from blocks, excess HSTs) I have been doing some improv quilt blocks, although those aren't really living up to my vision.

Also, I am finding I own almost no yellow fabric and I'm surprised at how little purple I own! I could make a whole quilt of "words and writing" or "metallic gold blenders." But my local shop has some bright yellow and purple fabrics in clearance on their website. It might warrant a trip :D
