double gauze help

First time i have used this fabric, still not sure about it but that's another story. Anyway, the question is: can you use interfacing on the fabric, will it just not squash all the bubbly bit flat? And what type of interfacing would you use, woven, stretch or the bog standard stuff?
Plus i thought this type of fabric was opaque but with the light behind it you can see straight through it.
It's not easy being this perfekt

I always prefer non iron-on for double gauze. I don't care for the pressed solid/compressed look of iron on for this type of fabric. JMO. (I also tend to use woven. Depending on the pattern, you may not need actual interfacing - anything with a stable weave can work.)

(checks top I'm currently wearing)

Looks like I used a lightweight iron on for the front facings.  It appears to have crinkled up nicely just like the fabric since being washed many times.
