Not my usual colours....what was I thinking!
« on: June 27, 2021, 09:03:10 AM »
This quilt has been in the making for over 12 months but is finally almost finished. I miscalculated my fabric and am going to have to snuffle about in my stash for something suitable for binding: I am determined to use up stash and not buy anything. I quilted this in a 1" diagonal crosshatch and was delighted to find that on finishing the quilting I was only about 1/2" out of square!
The pattern is called "Triangle Jitters" by Suziquilts.

....and the dusting and vacuming can wait!

Looking really good @rubywishes . I am impressed by the evenness of the quilting!

@rubywishes , absolutely love this!  So light and bright.

Gorgeous!

Jessie, who is very happy to be here!!  :),  but who has far too many sewing machines to be healthy, and a fabric stash which is becoming embarrassing.

@rubywishes that looks good.

If you are short of fabric for binding remember that binding can be pieced - just press the seam allowances apart so as to even out the thickness over the joins.

Lovely - and fantastic quilting!
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

Thankyou everyone for the nice comments.
LOL, the quilting looks great in a photo, but you should see it "in real life"! My ability to muck up a 1" measurement even with the use of a quilting guide, adhesive tape and a marking pen is extraordinary! I'm special like that ! LOL

I was hoping to do a very nice flange binding with the flora fabric and a dark green fabric but bugger, I fell short by 20" on one and about 60" on the other. I'll just keep rummaging but may end up just using the leftovers from the backing fabric....a burnt yellow.

That looks a light and bright quilt - very fresh. Well done.
As a 'near enough is good enough' person those quilting lines look mighty fine to me

Its a pity youre not in the UK @rubywishes you'd be overwhelmed with donations!

Its a lovely quilt and the quilting is divine ... myself, I havent the patience for matchstick (men and matchstick cats and dogs) quilting ...

Bravo to you xxx

It's just fabric. We can out-think it.
