Thank you, ladies, for your kind remarks.

@Sheilago The sashing isn't perfect, but near enough ;). Cut it to size, pin it well and sew carefully and it comes out more or less right first time.

@twopence I made it because I thought the flags would make a good quilt. We're now looking at using it as a fundraiser for a maritime charity, if we can find someone to take it on,eg a proper raffle - not the 'cloakroom ticket on the night, 50p a strip' sort of raffle - or a charity night auction.

@fajita The initial thoughts on layout were done on QuiltPro, then I used it to draw up the 'better' versions. I added the sashing later when I decided the flags needed to be separated from each other.
