It’s lovely @Stitches . You gave yourself a big challenge for your first attempt at free motion, but it’s certainly worked out. I love the subtle colour scheme too. :D

Now that's why I don't go onto the Darkside @Stitches  It is lovely but looks so complicated to me that I think if I started I would never finish.  Well done. <3

Lovely @Stitches

What you see as mistakes when you're doing free motion quilting are generally impossible to find later on!
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

Free motion is just that - it goes freely to wherever the machine wants to and in the grand scheme of things it will look good wherever it goes.

I do like your colours.  They are quite unusual but work really well.
Life's too short for ironing.

 I know of at least a few dozen sewing machines bought with a similar story line. It works best if you have a dedicated sewing room. The big machines with big harp space are heavy and, well, big. It's why I do throw size quilts. No room for a big machine.
Hey Bill! Read the manual!  Hehehe.

@Diane I was very lucky when Mom offered me her treadle. I started to say "no, thank you" because of space, but when I measured the entire table it's only 32"W and 20" deep, and I decided a rarely used side chair can go.

Some things are worth making room for.

@Renegade Sewist I unfortunately don't have a dedicated sewing room but my lounge is pretty big and this is where i sew at the moment. I have storage and a large sewing table so i'm sure i can squeeze in a slightly larger machine.

@Diane you can make full sized quilts on any size machine.I
If you want a machine primarily for p and q I can recommend the Brother Innovis 1800q.

@Diane  I don’t want to encourage  you  but a new sewing machine has really got me sewing again and taking an interest in other things related too.

I will vote for a Janome machine but only because that is what I have just bought and i am still in love, one thing I love is the choice of practicable stitches, I think have used every make of machines and so far I haven’t found anything missing on this machine.  It also suits me
