Brother Pacesetter xl711 Golden Stretch Needles?

I’ve inherited my mother-in-law’s lovely Brother Pacesetter machine. Reading through the manual it states that I need their “golden stretch needle” in order to sew stretch fabrics. I found one offer for golden stretch needles on eBay, and I could buy those. But as this is quite an old manual now, I’m wondering if there now other names for such a needle that I can search for online, so that I have more choices of seller.

Have you tried using standard needles? I have an old Frister and Rossman machine (about 1979) and it takes standard needles without any problems, including standard jersey needles. It might be worth giving them a go before paying out for something specialised.
