Hey all,
I have been saving to buy an industrial sewing machine.
I have narrowed it down to two, I was wondering does anyone here a have either of them and can help me choose.
They are the juki ddl 8700 heavy duty  and the juki – du-1181n.
Now I wanted one that would sew through leatherette and would be good for light fabric also, and I'm hoping it will be good for quilting too.

There is quite a differnce in price between the two.

According to the blurb I've found the du-1181n has a built in walking foot and a higher spec generally.  As they are both by the same manufacturer I think you will get what you pay for so I guess it depends on your budget.  If you can afford the higher spec one it will stand up to toughher materials better, but for home use do you need that?  Either way Juki are probably the best manufacturer at the present time.

Whatever you choose enjoy it.
Brenda.  My machines are: Corona, a 1953 Singer 201K-3, Caroline, a 1940 Singer 201K-3, Thirza, 1949 Singer 221K, Azilia, 1957 Singer 201K-MK2 and Vera, a Husqvarna 350 SewEasy about 20 years old. Also Bernina 1150 overlocker and Elna 444 Coverstitcher.

Yeah I love the spec of the du-1181n but I don't know if I would get much use out of it.
