SI have stared at rhe blocks I had put sashng on for a few days - just dind't like them. Then when in the other room where the yellow quilt is I thoughty narrow the sashing.
So unpicked what I had done - only 2 rows, recut the sashing to 1ins wide,  and I have now put sashing on the rows Does look better - less oppresive

I have laid out my blocks with the sashing and cornerstones. I hadn't given a thought to a border so am thinking about using some cornerstone sized squares, one for each outer block to match?

I am still unsure about the placement of the purple blocks, I think they stand out from the rest so am considering a different layout

Not your fault @Iminei I will see what I can do, I have plenty of fabric and might even dismantle them to the middle square. I will look at them over the weekend.  :)

I do like them as they are so may well make cushion covers with them.  :)

I've had a little play with this amethyst block, I think this looks better but still not sure.  Your comments welcome  :)

It looks more in keeping with the other blocks, the yellow/cream is softer than the whiter originals.  I think it will work.

The cream is the same as in all the others, I think sometimes the camera makes it look whiter.  I have changed the corner blocks to lighter colours but I don't know if there is enough contrast on the corners now.

Can you take a pic of the original amethyst block and the new one ... and one of the new with the other blocks @Lilian

In the first instance I think the new block is much softer and goes much better with your other blocks ... not that the original isnt stunning in its own right.

Took around an hour to choose as the Hand dyed Grey background fabric is really tricky; its grey but its blue but its green .....

Sharon at Seahorse quilting was so helpful and so very patient and just about had the 4ms I needed on the bolt .... although the quilt actually measures 70"ish sq so about 1.8 ms ....

Wow @Iminei that background fabric is gorgeous!  Mine is quite boring in comparison.

This is the new block laid out with the others.  The new block does look better but I haven't committed to it just yet.

The new block fits in beautifully but the original blocks are gorgeous.
