I am going for it, hoping that I have enough of the fabrics left  :)

I have cut and sewn the sashing to one side of my blocks today. The cornerstones and the rest of the sashing will be done on Sunday.  I have changed the layout slightly and decided to go for a 6 x 4 blocks for the top, borders and binding added later.  :)

Looking forward to seeing it ... and that poor block that didnt make the front could be pieced/appliqued on the back?!

Mine's going to have to be put aside for now.

All of the blocks are done and I have enough (I think) of the background fabric for the sashing. It's easier to put it to one side in this state than to half-assemble it and to come back to it in the future and try to remember where I'd got to.

That is so true ... as I found when I came back to putting the top together having done half of it (remember the foot pedal that gave up the ghost??)

I started to make more blocks but didn't have enough fabric to complete them. I made one extra emerald block for the top. I now have two spare which I do intend to piece into the backing, if I can make one more block (fingers crossed) I think three on the back would be better.  :) I still need to get the wadding but not sure what weight is best.

Probably a heavier weight than I use here in DDD ... which is Autumn weight ... if you are going to use it that is.

Yesterday I snuggled up in the sofa with my friends star quilt over me ... so there I was surrounded by all my TSP friends when I was feeling poorly !!!

Sorry I have no pics of the actual event.

I think autumn weight would be ok for me. I am going to use it on the bed as an extra layer. I don't heat my bedroom I like it cold with windows open all year round but I do like to be warm under the covers. What weight would be autumn weight?

That friends star quilt is gorgeous!

My quilt when it gets assembled will be made with what we made - no more - then I'll probably donate it for a Cancer charity that I support, they're always looking for raffle prizes.  I never know what to do with quilts. I have one on each of the guest beds but don't like them on mine - my bedroom is white and white with a touch of white. No place for coloured quilts there to disturb the zenitude  :meditation:

I hav e a couple of coloured wall quilts hung up.

Still undecided whether to do a 5x5 or a 4x6 but I have cut sashing as it wil be the same width whatever the final decison.

I think I will make another Emerald Block - that will give me more thinking time and if I don't use it it can go on the back. I already have a spare one which I sewed up with a wrong design

@Bjay I am making mine 6 x 4. This is the first layout, I have two emerald blocks the wrong way round but will put that right.

My cornerstones and sashing is now cut and sewn.
