What have I been up to today?

Well, the new toy arrived this morning. It's noisy. Doubt I'll be running it too late but it is veeeeeeeery smooth.
1st attempt at embroidery was this.....

Being a bit more daring I went in search of free designs on't tinterweb and found not too many.
This fella caught my eye along with a few dinosaurs and stuff. I added the croc lettering.

Turned out quite well mefinks.
I've also been playing around with some android app called "Touch Embroidery free" which digitizes stuff sort of. Having a few hiccups with that.
I'm also planning on having a crack at using something called "SophieSew" which looks interesting if not incredibly difficult.
Anyhoo, it's late, I'm tired and I'm off to bed. Nighty night.

@Bill your first embroidery attempts look great, did you buy the machine with projects in mind, or was it a case of something you “just had to have?” - I’ve been looking at them too...

The idea for an embroidery machine popped into my head when I starting making little pouches for my 'in the saddlebag' bike tools. I wanted the bikes headbadge on them. Having bought the thing I now realize this could be quite a challenging job!
I can see plenty of other projects further down the line too 
Not settling for 3rd rate fonts from the sewing machine will be nice too!

There is one thing @Bill when I got my new super duper sewing machine, I tried some of the fancy stitches on the machine mat I made, I was getting a bit antsy because they were taking too long, at least this can tootle on while you are doing something else.

Aaaaaaaaaaaand here's today's massacre.
I botched up the invisible seam on the side and the yellows didn't come out the way I'd hoped, but.....better than I thought.
Quite pleased with myself

Well this sucks. I don't have a 5x7 hoop.

I've a 10x7 but I've not a piece of fabric big enough to cover it
