As for my latest makes getting plenty of use - a couple of years ago I gazed wistfully at my wardrobe filled with nice-looking but unused home-sewn garments and decided that henceforth I would only make things I was sure to wear. The only exception being items made for a specific event - e.g. dresses have no role no in my everyday life but I need a couple handy for "occasions", plus the odd fancy top, and smart black concert clothes. So that's my guiding principal. I still haven't had the heart to clear out the wardrobe.
