@BrendaP ah yes I remember the skirts with the broderie anglaise petticoat showing... and unhip people telling you that your slip was showing.  :facepalm:

This was the decade that I discovered Laura Ashley and I still have some of my dresses - some from the shop and some made by me. Yes they have shrunk in the wardrobe!

I'm glad it's not just my stuff that's shrunk @Tamnymore . @Bodgeitandscarper I made a black jumbo cord midi skirt with big black buttons but that would have been towards the end of the 70s I think. @realale that was daring. I was riding a motorbike from age 16 so skirts weren't practical. Plus I'd spent years fighting the school uniform 'girls can't wear trousers' rule. I don't think I owned a skirt (apart from the dreaded school skirt) or dress until much later.

Well yes, my mum was making me the clothes in the 70s. I'm all of 52!
