100 days, 100 blocks
« on: December 11, 2021, 08:37:10 AM »
Starting in July, I am planning to participate in the 100 days, 100 blocks sew along by Gnome Angel.  I’d like to use Tula Pink fabrics like the ones used in this quilt…

arranged in a rainbow running diagonally as in this quilt…

I have never used Tula Pink fabric.  Please could any Tula Pink experts advise me on suitable ranges for this project?

I love the idea of the 100 day project, earlier this year I sketched for 100 days and I'll definitely do something next year.

There was an article by Kim Smith Soper in this month's Love Quilting magazine where she talked about her 100 blocks. Here's a photo of her finished quilt .

Looking forward to seeing the amazing quilts TSPers create.  :)

Dont like that! The one with houses ... not my thing at all.

If youre going to make a quilt with houses make it LARGE (as they say in the hood)

@Iminei She'd quilted the view from her window each day.

@Lemon Syllabub I would have a very boring, grey quilt if I did that
BB
As it neared the top of the grade, it went more slowly. However, it still kept saying, "I—think—I—can, I—think—I—can." It reached the top by drawing on bravery and then went on down the grade, congratulating itself by saying, "I thought I could,  I thought I could."

Like the idea
Would use up some of this box full of bits and pieces I have.    Or maybe use it to practice use of pastel

Starting late in the year, except holidays, would suit mt quilting timetable, such as it is

Here is the link.

I’ve bought the FPP version of the pattern.

I really like the idea, but I can't imagine having the time and discipline to get it done in anything like the time aimed for - not even in retirement!  I'll enjoy watching yours though - and that pattern and colour scheme are just lovely.
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

 The PDF of the machine pieced version is $26. Too extravagant for me when the likelihood of doing  much of it is very small.
Hey Bill! Read the manual!  Hehehe.

The link shows the blocks and layout of the finished quilt together with the block sizes. You don't need to buy a PDF. You have all the info needed to make the quilt , or a very good approximation of it.

She quilted the view from her window every day

Ahhhh! Ok ... a bit like the temperature quilt we did in 2019 then (which is still hanging up in month pieces) Yes I know @Lowena

As Kad says ... print a copy of the picture of the quilt and you've pretty much got everything you need ...
the blocks are either 8" sq or 8" x 4" rectangle and seem pretty simple.

@Pearl @Iminei @Kad it says you need special templates and rulers of you do the machine  ( not fpp ) pieced version.
The pattern is £20 plus the extra equipment

I couldn't do it without the actual pattern as my maths isn't up to calculating the component parts of the blocks.
