I have to give a shout-out to Coles.  My embroidery machine (Husqvarna Viking Topaz 25) has had an issue with the needle clamp, and this morning it reached the stage of being unable to hold onto a needle.  Mr Acorn (who deserves a shout-out all of his own) took it apart and found that the thread inside the clamp had worn away.

I phoned to see whether Coles (who supplied the machine) could supply the part.  They checked, found that the needle bar and clamp had changed since my machine was made, so would both need replacing (taking it from a DIY to an engineer's job), and then pointed out that it was still under warranty!

It is being picked up tomorrow, they will service it as well as repair it, and then she apologised because they wouldn't be able to do it before Christmas!!
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

It's so wonderful to find actual customer service these days. Even just hearing about it gives me hope for the future.
