Just wondering if anyone has made this? I'm making view D and I'm finding it hard to get the elastic casing right due to the shape of the neckline and wondering if anyone has any tips please.

There is a review of the pattern here with a comment about the neckline.

I had a search here and didn't turn anything must try again with a few different terms maybe.

I did find one on pattern review that suggested a binding for the elastic instead of turning down the neckline which I might try. I'm not happy with the finish on the sleeve ties either I'm thinking I might back them with the fabric if I have enough left over.

There's several reviews on pattern review? Hopefully it will help. The reviews are further down the page. You can click each review for more information but think you need to register and become a member to get the more detailed information?

Thanks Lizzy777 I did see one of them on pattern review that was having the same problem as me. I just can't get it to sit neatly. I've just bought some binding so hopefully that tip will work and I'll update.

OMG. I am sooooooo sorry.  I didn't put the link.  It was  Pattern Review that I found it.  Trying to be helpful and just a big failure. Thanks Lizzy777 for posting.   -<

I just read a review on this pattern, one thing was said and that was that it runs large!  :)
Willing but not always able :)

Ok so just to update I used this suggestion from the review on PR that mentioned the same problem I was having http://thehabygoddess.blogspot.ie/2012/04/tutorial-adding-elastic-neckline.html I really loved how it turned out and suspect it might be my new go to method for creating casings. It's so neat. I have finished the top and while it's not perfect I like it enough to go ahead and make it in some "good" fabric and will probably wear the first version over the summer. I agree it does run quite large though.

Oh no! You're not a big failure. More like a great help! I thought you had put one link up for one review so thought I was being helpful showing a few more. I didn't realise your link was missing. I'm having to rest my ankle in bed so have too much time to google about lol.....

Glad you got it sorted.   With regards to size, it is described as "very loose fitting' so it will have a minimum of 8" ease over and above the measurements at bust level.  So not necessarily running large, it,s designed that way.

So made a somewhat wearable toile, the blue one and then made it out of some beautifully light cotton lawn. I made a few changes on the second one. I didn't leave the open part on the arms and I backed the tie pieces in the same fabric as the reverse was too stark a contrast for me. I also totally ignored the instructions for the neckline and made a bias binding channel instead. It's lovely to wear on these hot days.
