Hiya folks, @Flobear and I need to come up with a list of contests, and are open to ideas, so please tell us which ones you enjoyed and would like to do again, plus any new ideas.

Cheers Ruth

How about a contest to make a smaller item, this would help some that maybe don't have as much time or are having trouble finding their sewjo, maybe something like a purse, makeup bag, kitchen apron, oven gloves etc
I’m a fabricholic on the road to recovery. Just kidding. I’m on the road to the fabric store.

Yes, a kitchen apron! I've needed one for more than a year. I'm beginning to think my sewjo died......

It's nowhere to be found.

If you have these 2/3 pieces /a bag of scraps of fabric to use up, turn them into one item
Perhaps  call it  "Was scrap, it's a wrap". Or "Joseph's coat" ?

Now you got me thinking!
"Shades of ...." Instead of a colour, how about different shades  or patterns of any one colour.
"Here comes summer!"  Maybe perhaps  a summer dress made in the end of winter to cheer us up?  Antipodeans might have to anticipate a refreshing.cold winter instead though!
"Just a copy".  Show us how you copied an old wardrobe favourite.

"Fifty Shades of…"  :P

Right, here we go…

Sock it to 'em – something made from socks. Perhaps a stuffed toy, or clothes for doll / teddy.
Roll up, Roll up! – artisans, crasfts{wo}men, laborours, they all need a tool roll!
Clothes encounters – costumes and fancy dress.
Vested Interests – sleeveless top made of stretchy fabric.
You Old Queen! – make something to commemorate EIIR's platinum jubilee.
How Duvet Do It? – what delightful items can you turn a duvet cover into?

Ooh @Mr Twingo there are some interesting ideas there.

I like the ideas of something new from something old especially.

I need a new apron too

One pattern, two looks - how different can you make two garments from the same pattern look?

Sewing for the little ones - the babies and toddlers in your family.

Buttons and bows - embellish a cushion or other item with haberdahery.

Turn around - a reversable garment

I'd like to see a garment challenge, perhaps using a particular colour or pattern or maybe something using a trim of some kind.

Another thought is to copy a garment you admire rather than clone one that you already have?

Ooooh, lots of great suggestions.

I always like a challenge that includes a "new to you technique."

How about a challenge to use fabric from the stash that was purchased at least XX years ago - maybe 4 years?

.... or to use a pattern that has been sitting around but never used.
Life's too short for ironing.

That could take me all year - I suspect that is just about all my stash (well the garment fabric for certain).

@Sewingsue I think you'd only need to use of of the pieces of fabric thats more than 4 years old!
