I'm going to start the crow FPP pattern tomorrow, just printed off the pattern and  :faints: it's looks very daunting and i'm not sure how i'll get on with this. The instructions aren't as clear as i would have liked  so i'm going to have to try and work it out. I have the fabric for the sky and crow, just need to sort out something vibrant for the fence.

I had printed out the pattern, took one look at it and thought how the h*ll am i supposed to put that together, such tiny pieces that weren't even clear to the eye. Anyway this morning i went back and read the pattern from top to bottom, i'm being a div again  the bit i had printed off was just a guide, the actual pattern pieces were further down the page and all separate, i've printed them off and cut them out. Next was the fabric, i had the crow fabric to hand but seemed to have lost the sky fabric that i bought, 2 hours later and i found it tucked inside another bag of fabric  i have a rather large stash of fabric but couldn't find anything suitable for the fence part, found what i needed at the sewing studio so i've ordered a fat quarter which will be here tomorrow. Maybe i'll get started tomorrow  I get the feeling i've bitten off more than i can chew here, i thought the hot air balloon was hard enough but this is another level.

Yes but @Diane you have a whole month to do one, so take your time and enjoy it.

Well i've made a bit of progress and thought i'd start with the fence part that the crow is sitting on  and why oh why did i buy fabric that has fence lines on it  :lipsrsealed: boy there was some swearing going on, i sewed the second piece on, flipped it over and the fence was 90 degrees out  :headbang: I unpicked it about five times and it took a lot of patience to get it to what i call acceptable.

Winter starlings are glorious. So many reflective colours and silver sprinkles all over - what's not to love? They were absent for so many years in my last garden that I really appreciate them now.

And I love a Corvid - looking forward to seeing your take on Monsieur Corbeau  :D

@Flobear I haven't seen any starlings in my garden for ages, it must be a few months now. i do like watching them and find them quite comical especially in the summer when they all pile in the birdbath. Who knows, they may well end up on my wall hanging  ;)

You won't have long to wait, i made good progress today and will be back on it tomorrow. It's proving to be a lot trickier than it looked.

They're all in mine, stripping the bird feeders, squabbling noisily and making a real mess on the terrace - and then haring off to Aberystwyth to entertain other people with their murmurations!
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

Oh my goodness......this is like reading about myself with each project I do! It's definately a love/hate relationship LOL.      BTW, I LOVE your fence fabric!

@rubywishes I was just tempted to not bother trying to get the fence pieces lined up in the same direction but i know i couldn't live with that, it would annoy me too much. It took so long trying to line it up, sewing it, unpicking it, sewing it unpicking it. In the end i basted it by hand and if it wasn't looking right i could pull the thread out quickly and retry.

@Acorn I did have loads visiting as they loved the suet blocks that i put out for them, this was until DH put his foot down after complaining about all the poop on the patio  Also it was costing an arm and a leg and seeing as i'm not working at the moment it's not a cost i can justify.
