Hello Pearl - I run a small sewing repair business.   I replace zips, shorten things, lengthen them etc. I make clothes for myself and I really like tops with interesting necklines - cowls, drapes etc.!

Welcome from me too. We have several regular posters from Suffolk.
I lived in Colchester for over 20years, Haverhill in the early 1970s and now in Norfolk.....
However I can't sew garments or do repairs, I can only do patchwork and quilting
Triumph of hope over experience :D

Hello from Norfolk :D
BB
As it neared the top of the grade, it went more slowly. However, it still kept saying, "I—think—I—can, I—think—I—can." It reached the top by drawing on bravery and then went on down the grade, congratulating itself by saying, "I thought I could,  I thought I could."

Hello, good evening and welcome from me too.  Suffolk is indeed beautiful, I've spent many summer camping and cycling along the coast.

This probably tells you more about me than anything else!!

I could blame it on Christmas and Covid maybe,
But to tell the truth – its all down to me,
I brought lovely things to eat from the store,
And then I went back and brought a lot more.
So that horrible word which means losing weight,
I can’t say it out loud but it starts from this date!
I try not to look in the windows we pass,
I’m sure by the way that its magnified glass.
I used to be slender – I weighed seven stone,
Now that’s the weight of my leg – on its own!
Men used to look over this slim frame of mine,
Now they don’t bother – it takes too much time.
I can still remember that lovely day when
I could put on a thong and find it again,
My bras were once sexy with tassels to twiddle
Now I buy them from Aldi – that aisle down the middle.
The only scales I once bothered about
Were those to be found on the side of a trout.
And so I will do it though it brings me sorrow,
I’m going to diet – starting tomorrow!

Welcome @Suffolkone1 . Great poem. We have a Battle of the Bulge thread....

Probably the best month to choose, as the rest of the year we have so much rain. I'd love to move to the East coast - you have much better weather than we do!  @Lowena has already deserted us to move to Norfolk.
