Blocking advice needed

I've just finished knitting a top from the Rowan 'Ease' collection - Okra. It was written for Rowan's Fine Lace yarn (alpaca/wool) which I substituted by Scheepjes 'Maxi Sugar Rush' (cotton). The substitution was made based on info on the website ' yarnsub.com' and it's knitted up well to tension etc. The top is knitted all in one piece from back over the shoulder and down to the front edge but after pinning it out on a flat surface and dampening it / air drying it 3 times now that I've sewn the side seams it's as misshapen as ever - very!

What I need is advice on what I can try next - other than use it as a dishcloth.
'Jill' of many aspects of sewing, "Mistress" of few.

Have you tried heat on it as well as dampening it? Whilst it's pinned out hover over it with a steam iron and let it cool completely before moving it.
