Does anyone know how old a knitting or sewing machine needs to be to be considered vintage?

I don't know about sewing and knitting machines, but on Bargain Hunt the other day they reckoned clothes were vintage if they were over 30 years old - that means pre 1992, but surely that's only a few years ago?  :S

As even old knitting machines are capable of making perfectly knitted garments it wouldn't have occurred to me that they were likely to be called vintage. I suppose though, if you wanted a cut-off point in their development, I would say anything pre-punchcard, i.e machines with automatic patterning.

So my M&S sweatshirt isn't quite there, yet? Bought it reduced from £25 to £18 around 1995. A little faded and the sleeves are massive but otherwise pristine.
Janome M50QDC - "Jane" - Small, cute and hard working. Pfaff Quilt Ambition 630 - "Pfanny" - Pfickle. Bernina L450 - "Bernie" - Very hungry. Bernina 830 Record - "Becky"

Oh my knitting machine is definitely pre punch card so I guess I can call it vintage when I sell it on an auction site,
