Bias shirt yokes
« on: June 17, 2017, 16:07:56 PM »
I am making DH a shirt from some checked fabric I bought from Fabworks.

I am making it with short sleeves and my intention is to cut the pockets, front bands and the yoke on the bias.

Should I cut the under yoke on the bias or on the straight grain?

My instinct says if I cut it on grain it will be more stable but my insticts have been very wrong in the past >:)

A) what does the pattern say?
B) If what it says is not what you want, then feel free to ignore pattern.
C) If it's a double yoke then cut the outer on the bias and the inner on the straight.
D) If worried that bias might stretch out then apply interfacing.

Whatever you do it'll look great!
