Thanks @Deafoldbat and @Iminei, not least for interpreting my misuse of the word 'border'!

OK. Final piece is done. It's a double-length mat for the centre of the table. It came up a little narrower than I wanted so I decided to put wider binding.  Meant to be 5 eighths but things moved a bit with the quilting** so I had to reduce it to half an inch.  That was interesting when it came to mitring the corners but they worked perfectly in the end. Actually easier than quarter inch when you have chipolata fingers!

Now to find a time when my sis. is not heavily involved in the Bowls leagues so we can get together.

**Note to self, trim wadding etc to size after quilting, not before  :[

Perfect! How did you find that fabric ??? It could've been made from the design!

It took a lot of hunting, @Iminei. Cotton Patch. @Sheilago suggested a very nice fabric which started me looking and I saved ones that I thought might be suitable. It was immense luck that the fabric had a wiggly design within squares set diamond-wise on the fabric.

I have to say that I'm really pleased with the results and know that Edie-in-Wales will be most appreciative.

Using the arrowhead block for the big one is perfect.  I'm sure sis will like them.

They're brilliant, and go so well with the wall tiles.

I'm glad I thought of the arrowhead block because I'd plotted out three designs and even started on one experimentally - more Flying Geese slain, alert the RSPB! - but decided there would be too many lumpy points. However, I really liked the little 4 patch on one of the plans and remembered that my very first ever block had that feature. It never ceases to amaze me how someone thought of the way to make that block. The other thing I'm pleased with is that joining the two blocks I went for the plain square in the centre; I ummed and urred for quite a while but made the right decision.

Finally got round to finishing my cushion. The back is just an envelope opening made of red and blue woven gingham. I enjoyed the exercise of copying the tiles, but the end result is a little unusual. It’ll be fine for the computer chair.
