Butterick Nightie - Overkill?

I've nearly finished this gift for my friend, and need an opinion.  The fabric is a beautiful slithery, stretch, satiny stuff and a beautiful mauve - not as purpley as the pics.  I managed to match up some lace from the stash which I think goes well with it. 

However, when it was finished, I thought the front looked very plain, so I added my own embellishment (I haven't yet O/Locked it).  Have I gone over the top?  My friend is very glam, so I think it's OK, but I feel I need another opinion.

I think the lace looks great, not over the top at all- a bit bland without it.
