The above company at Tiverton Devon have some new, beautifully coloured sock wool in. It's so lovely I was tempted even though I couldn't knit a sock to save my kidney  :D
I get e mails from them as I've used them and love their alpacas
:loveit: so I thought I'd give a heads up

Pricy though.  A ball of sock yarn costs the same as a pair of ready knitted socks in what looks to be much the same yarn.

I thought people knitted because they enjoyed it, not to save money

Exactly. Much like many things we do craftwise.
Thank you for the info tho. One of my neighbours has Alpacas one field over from me. Interesting animals.

They are beautiful but a bit pricey

@Lowena you are of course right and I still might be tempted, I have actually bought some of their alpaca in the past, they used to exhibit at some of the show I worked at.

This is my fav https://www.ukalpaca.com/shop/4-ply-knitting-yarns/4-ply-sock-yarn/superfine-alpaca-nylon-4-ply-sock-yarn/ of course it is the most expensive

I love the fact that it is all UK alpacas. I am trying to buy more UK wool but love the Drops yarn by Garnstudios

Of course !  You recognise quality @Celia.   :) I can pretty much always recognise the most expensive fabric.  I always gravitate towards the stuff.  It’s like it is pulling me in.

@LeilaMay They do, and better chance at not shrinking. If anything, some would tend to go the other way, grow in size.
Sew it needs juice!
