Soft furnishings- no this is the right thread
« on: August 18, 2022, 09:22:49 AM »
I have begun to  make a  couple of cushion covers.

The trip to Doughty's produced the extra fabric required znd I am using g curtain linen that the local shop was selling at £5 a metre. I bought a selection of metres.
Think I may go back for some to a fabric  make some curtains with..

First I am making 2 cushion covers using the star pattern from September 2020 quiltathon.
They are interlocking and will be  gift for sons Civil Partnership Day. Using their fave colours with interlocking stars.
Sentimental I know  but mostly I am

 The linen i bought from Doughty's is a bit floppy so sprayed starch on it. That's a new thing to me but am wondering if  some lightweight iron on interfacing might be a more permanent solution.
What a mess the starch made!

I’ve been making some cushion covers with added piping for a friend and my second attempt is so much better.

@Bjay  I can’t see any of your pics. 😭

This is the 2nd  patch cover.  Not very happy with it and I think I will do another one swapping the green and the yellow over.

Hoping this pic comes out

That looks fine but it will be interesting to see it with the colours swapped.
