I think I’m pretty lucky as my model is pretty good. I did upgrade some 30 years ago from one that wouldn’t stay on track and kept wandering off.  It’s had two owners since!
This model isn’t good at DIY now due to faulty vision nowadays but can wield a hoover and duster pretty well.  Cheapskate mode is not fitted but seems to have a problem understanding some commands and sometimes turns itself off when being spoken to.  Another minus is that it doesn’t seem able to multi task….in that it can’t watch tv and listen to what is being said at the same time.
However, for the price paid, it’s pretty good considering it’s age.   :)

Mine got a virus and lost all programs when his memory was wiped.  This has been a bonus as it means I can choose what apps I wish to download.  I have put greater emphasis on cooking, cleaning and washing.  Unfortunately his memory has run a bit low and I am unable to download the DIY, mechanics or working apps.

As it neared the top of the grade, it went more slowly. However, it still kept saying, "I—think—I—can, I—think—I—can." It reached the top by drawing on bravery and then went on down the grade, congratulating itself by saying, "I thought I could,  I thought I could."

Mine has crashed, again. On the sofa. Trying to plug it into the charging port for the night but it's insisting that's not necessary.

Listening is very much a weak point. Sometimes the listening routine of nods and reciprocal comments happens but nothing has been commited to memory. Other times there is no signal at all.

You have made me laugh you lot

For all the faults with my model I still wouldn’t swap him  over the years he’s had a rough ole time with the loss of his dad and his PITA of a mother. He has the usual faults as some of you have mentioned. i.e He also has a problem understanding some commands and sometimes turns itself off when being spoken to. Another minus is that it doesn’t seem able to multi task….in that it can’t watch tv and listen to what is being said at the same time on the plus side he also does his own laundry and when he cleans he does do it to within an inch of its life (ex army so he knows how to clean). I just find the older he gets, the worse he gets, he gets more anxious about things.

Well regarding the bathroom we appear to have gone full circle and are now back with the bath  :faints:

Mine has a broken mic port.  Deaf as all hell. Annoying repeating everything.

Usually good.  Bit of an a all me at times. Cabin?  Like it but this is all him. I'd come 2 days every few weeks. We come 3 days every week.  He forgets my crap all the time, and when he doesn't leaves it to me to pack.

DIY is installed. It just has low battery halfway through.

Well mine can cook @Diane , (he does it  all) can clean, can do DIY, but only if its outside, although he did make an extra shelf for the birdies (not for me of course), can wash up and always brags he can do anything a woman can do apart from have a baby but he can help with that

Downside, he's as deaf as post, refuses to wear a hearing aid until lunchtime (I'm whispering), even though I keep him well stocked in batteries, can be argumentative (he's always right),  can be a bit blind inside  the house (very useful) but knows if a blade of grass has moved outside.  Good at saving money, which I am not, very friendly with other women, but he's allowed that (there's an unseen leash on him) and generally talks to much.

I'm not looking to swap though, even I know  when I'm onto a good thing.

Reading this thread has really cheered me up and I haven't laughed so much either.  I wouldn't swop mine especially when I look at some of the models owned by friends.

Maybe we should pool our resources and arrange a swap?  Those who have DIY skills get swapped with those that can do cooking and cleaning etc, that way we could all have a rest from the things we always have to do because of the incompetent OH's
As it neared the top of the grade, it went more slowly. However, it still kept saying, "I—think—I—can, I—think—I—can." It reached the top by drawing on bravery and then went on down the grade, congratulating itself by saying, "I thought I could,  I thought I could."

Mine wasn't programmed properly at inception.  Mother did everything for him until he was 30, so:
Can't clean - no idea how to wipe a surface.
Won't hoover, dust.
Will (sort of) clean outside windows as too tight to pay window cleaner.
Can do DIY pretty well, but also capable of utter disasters (involving replacing bathroom suites)
Pretty good at sorting cars out
Going deaf - I repeat things at least three times (nothing wrong with his hearing, apparently I mumble......)
Forgetful - ie. my birthday, anyone else's birthday....
Tight, very, very tight
Even tighter than tight
Can't/won't cook
No idea how to use the washing machine, tumble drier, change a bed, turn the oven on.
can make toast
First edition bogged off with his secretary, 2nd Edition bogged off with the lady from the bank, and I really hate to admit this is the third edition.
I will never, ever do it again!
I have learnt by my mistakes: Sewing machines now are Bernina 720, Bernina 1008, Bernina 801 from 1981, Brother overlocker, ancient but works well
