Hi, I sew casually aiming at at least one project a year. I'm in my 60's and have been 'bodging' stuff most of my life. Was great fun when the punk/new romantic era was about. Then I got more into motorcycles and started nocking up stuff in leather. Now I just customise clothes to fit (due to weight gain), or repair something old in my wardrobe. My user name comes from my step grandmother who was a seamstress. She always used to give us scraps to make dolls clothes. My latest project - I'm trying to line a vintage 1970's Barbarella leather jacket, was going well, but hit a snag - which is how I found this forum, looking for remedies.  :)

Welcome to TSP.  Lots of knowledgeable folks here so I’m sure if you ask there will be some solutions offered.

Hello and welcome  :D
As it neared the top of the grade, it went more slowly. However, it still kept saying, "I—think—I—can, I—think—I—can." It reached the top by drawing on bravery and then went on down the grade, congratulating itself by saying, "I thought I could,  I thought I could."

Hello and welcome to TSP.

If bodging means working things out for yourself and having a go then I'm another who's been doing it for most of my life.
Brenda.  My machines are: Corona, a 1953 Singer 201K-3, Caroline, a 1940 Singer 201K-3, Thirza, 1949 Singer 221K, Azilia, 1957 Singer 201K-MK2 and Vera, a Husqvarna 350 SewEasy about 20 years old. Also Bernina 1150 overlocker and Elna 444 Coverstitcher.
