I’m new here :)

Hello everyone.

I am new here.  I started sewing my work clothes and continue with sewing for my little one.

Recently acquired BERNINA 730 records and 801 sports. I would like to find out where I can get parts for them in the U.K. if need be.  My Bernina 730 record, the width button lever currently not working as it’s not sliding out, and my 801 sport, the thread cutter is broken due to the screw broken and previous owner glued the top bit of the screw back in, would be nice to be able to know where I can get replacement to get it fully working.

I’ll be busy reading posts as there are sooo much to learn and my vocab is not very good.

Hi, @Bibilee778 you have a couple of great machines, if you can get them working properly again. I recently acquired a record 830 c/o @LeilaMay and several other forum members who collectively transported it from the Southwest to the northeast of England and it makes such lovely, neat stitches.
Janome M50QDC - "Jane" - Small, cute and hard working. Pfaff Quilt Ambition 630 - "Pfanny" - Pfickle. Bernina L450 - "Bernie" - Very hungry. Bernina 830 Record - "Becky"

Would love to know where I can get parts for the Bernina that I have to get it all working.

I’m just starting to read posts and hoping I’ll be able to get a number to call to but parts from.

Thank you for dropping a line :).

Welcome to TSP @Bibilee778 . I can't help at all with this query, as I'm in the US and not a Bernina girl. I'm sure within a couple of days you'll get some useful suggestions. Meanwhile we're happy you've joined us. We love photos, once you've posted the necessary amount and we love sharing our ideas on how to do this or that.

How old is the little one you're sewing for?
Hey Bill! Read the manual!  Hehehe.

Has no one recommended Helen Howes yet ... it might just be old singers she specialises in but its worth a go

Welcome @Bibilee778

My vintage Bernina 707 was fixed by Bambers in Manchester so it might be worthwhile giving them to see if they have the parts you need.

Good morning and welcome @Bibilee778 .

I have a 1980s Bernina too though, fortunately, have not had to have anything important replaced. It's not my main machine now but it's a very special one and I use it sometimes just because I like it.

Hello and welcome from me too @Bibilee778 !  I also have a Bernina 730, although I don't use it very often.  Helen Howes does keep some Bernina stuff, but she is mainly Vintage Singers.

Bambers in Manchester may be able to help, and I'm sure other members will have more helpful suggestions.

eta Absolutely nothing wrong with your vocabulary
Jessie, who is very happy to be here!!  :),  but who has far too many sewing machines to be healthy, and a fabric stash which is becoming embarrassing.

Hello & welcome! I had a 730, it was a great little machine but I sold it as it wasn't getting used - still slightly regret it as it was in fantastic condition & so quiet & smooth running.

Hello and welcome to the forum, I have no useful information for you but that is normal for me  :D
As it neared the top of the grade, it went more slowly. However, it still kept saying, "I—think—I—can, I—think—I—can." It reached the top by drawing on bravery and then went on down the grade, congratulating itself by saying, "I thought I could,  I thought I could."
