Hi there!

Thank you for accepting me into the group.

I have been sewing for many years, with quite a gap in the middle due to life getting in the way. A few years ago I eased myself back into it, and then bought my first overlocker (Pfaff from Lidl). It served me well for about four years then I changed to a Brother 4234D, which I love. I can control the speed (which was difficult on the Pfaff) and it has needle threading. My sewing machine is a Brother innovis A50, also an upgrade in 2019 from my Frister & Rossmann which I'd had for many years.

Recently I've ventured into the world of coverstitching, with a second-hand Janome 2000CPX. I seem to be getting on OK with it, but occasionally I can't pull the fabric out from the machine as easily as demonstrated on all the videos I've watched! It has finished hems off very nicely, though, despite this issue.

Looking forward to learning more hints and tips and ideas from the group.

Hi, @59doodle

I've yet to succumb to the lure of a coverstitch though would get a lot of use out of one. I gather they can be pernickety beasts!
Janome M50QDC - "Jane" - Small, cute and hard working. Pfaff Quilt Ambition 630 - "Pfanny" - Pfickle. Bernina L450 - "Bernie" - Very hungry. Bernina 830 Record - "Becky"

@59doodle Hello and welcome from me too  :D
As it neared the top of the grade, it went more slowly. However, it still kept saying, "I—think—I—can, I—think—I—can." It reached the top by drawing on bravery and then went on down the grade, congratulating itself by saying, "I thought I could,  I thought I could."

Hello and welcome! What sort of things do you sew? I'm guessing knit fabrics for clothing? Me too! We do like photos as we're a nosy bunch! You'll be able to post photos once you've made a certain number of posts.

welcome @59doodle I love to sew knits and also have a Janome cover stitch though mine is the older 1000 model. I found it a steep learning curve and it still mis behaves a bit!

Jessie, who is very happy to be here!!  :),  but who has far too many sewing machines to be healthy, and a fabric stash which is becoming embarrassing.

Welcome to TSP. I have a used Janome 1000 and I haven’t been able to extract the fabric from the machine as per videos either. It’s sitting in the closet gathering dust.
