I sometimes use the stiff net from fabricland if the budget is very tight, but I find there is a blue tint to white stiff net and it smells a bit funny until it's aired.
my favourite is  the Italian net.

I prefer to use the Italian net from tutunetoandnotions. I find it easier to work with and I like to mix my colours

Yes it's the stiff net that I use, I haven't tried the extra stiff as I find the stiff is OK for all my layers with a hoop. Sample chart is a good idea to order to see the true colours.  Italian net is more expensive than Heathcoats but I prefer it, I haven't had any problem with the net going soft or drooping.
