FOQ 2018 Who, What, Where .. all you need to know
« on: September 01, 2017, 17:19:32 PM »
I have a very special offer for all of you who would like to visit the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham next year.

I have secured reservations at the

Premier Inn, NEC / Birmingham airport

for the duration of the Festival,

Thursday 9 August through to the Sunday 12th August

at a cost of just

£68.75

per night per room;
I have reserved a mix of both Double and Twin rooms,
so you could share with a friend, making it even cheaper to visit the show!

http://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/hotels/england/west-midlands/birmingham/birmingham-necairport.html

(WOW!! Even cheaper than I paid for the Ibis styles this year!)

You can reserve one night, two nights or all four, it is up to you!

This doesn't unfortunately include brekkie but that is available, at extra cost, payable on site.
There is a nice bar and a good and reasonable restaurant on site (ask me how I know?!)

The NEC had a shuttle bus running to and from the NEC via the hotel this year
and there is no reason to think they wont be doing similarly next year.

Failing that it is an easy and pleasant 10 to 15 minute walk ... or £5 taxi ride to the show.
(Divide that by 2 and its less than a Starbucks to travel in style to the show)

So if next year is your year to visit the FoQ,
Why not take advantage of this discounted rate
to go and join up with your friends on The Sewing Place.

If you are interested in joining the party,
please pm Iminei.

I won't need a room if I go, living less than an hour away.

I would say that I need definite confirmation by the end of July 2018, but I personally would be more comfortable with a month before the show ... ie the 9th July 2018.

This would enable me to see who's coming and arrange a time to meet, book a table for dinner etc.

After I receive your confirmation, I will liaise with the booking team and get your reservation code and details of check in/check out etc. to you.

Thank you.
I have friends who have spoken about going, but at least one has family commitments that mean she would not want to commit too far ahead.

Just to let you know that I have reserved a mix of both Double and Twin rooms at The Premier Inn next year ...
which of course means you could, if you wish,  share with a friend, for the same low cost of just £68.75 per night, making next years visit to the FoQ even more economical!!!

I will of course also be offering Group tickets to all our members, (whether or not you stay) which we have found to be  the cheapest tickets for the show ....

I'd love to go but I would go down and back in one day - train - because of my pets. Might fly instead since I am 20 min from airport - that's probably better.  Would be fun! Visiting sewing expos is one of the things on my new retirement list ;)

I'd just go up for one day I think - is any day better than any other day to visit?

Thursday (first day) is very busy ... Sunday (last day) much less so, but traders have less stock, tho I have never really seen a stall with less than oodles of stuff on it. Sunday is also half an hour shorter ... Its horses for courses really.

I am offering hotel rooms at a bargain rate as well as discounted tickets for next year too.

There is such a lot to see and do, LeilaMay.  I only did one day this year but it wasn't really enough.  I usually do two, one to look at the quilts and one to do a workshop and to buy pretties.
