Need party dress pattern for "Clara"
« on: September 16, 2017, 15:31:20 PM »
The young lady who will be Clara in this year's Nut is very petite except for in the chest.  She's quite developed, and the director wants a dress that will reduce the appearance of "maturity."  Have any of you run across a pattern for a party girl dress that could accomplish this?  I'd say in a US girls size 14 except for the bust.  She's not gigantic by any means but a bit larger than one would expect for the rest of her size.

The current Clara dress is definitely for a child build and will not look nice on this young lady.

Thanks!

Strap her chest down with elasticated bandages ala Judy Garland in Wizard of Oz ????

a V shaped panel in the front of the bodice can visually minimise bust size

Maybe a sports bra, they flatten down the bust.

Thanks for the suggestions!  I found a dress pattern that will work.  That coupled with a sports bra might do the trick!
