Bernina Old Style Presser Foot - 1/4" Patchwork Foot No.37

This ebay auction ends in around an hour - at 11.36 am today - with currently one bid at £2.56.

They are around £30 to purchase new. There are some very poor quality clone feet out there but I don't think this is one of those.

I hope this link is useful to someone  8)

It went for £2.56 plus £3 postage; some lucky quilter got a fabulous bargain there!

I was kicking myself! I was watching it when I got called to the phone, and then totally distracted.....

Should have put a bid on it straight away.   :(

Jessie - do you have a 000 foot?

I read on the Vintage Bernina FB page of someone using the 000 foot - with the needle position set one click to the right - to achieve a 1/4" seam.
They say it produces a better 1/4" seam than using the 37 foot with the older vintage Berninas - that is up to the 900 series - as the needle is very very slightly off centre (a tiny smidgen to the left) when using the 37 foot with these machines.
This is because the 37 foot was made for the 1000 series and up and the fit is ever so slightly different - a thick-prong vs. thin prong issue - here is where it gets confusing so I'll stop!
:S

I have tried this on my 930, and it makes a rather scant 1/4" seam, which tbh I think I might prefer for some fabrics.
I need to do a bit more experimenting though.
But I thought I'd mention it as it may be a workaround for you.

Edit to add - I'm not sure which Bernina you have though - I assumed it was pre-1000 series but I could be wrong... in which case I'll get me coat  :|

Not sure what feet I have with the Bernina tbh MmeC.   :|  although I don't think I have a needle positioner on the 730, I must look. I don't use it a great deal - although I really should.  There are lots of little hoopy things with it, I think they are for darning ....

I do use the needle position on the Pfaff 1475 (my favourite - but don't tell the others!)  ;)
