A lovely block designed by Lynn Goldsworthy that finishes around 12 1/2" sq
and features Foundation paper pieced Half Square Triangles

You can download the full pattern for free from here....

and if you want to FPP the HST's, as suggested in the pattern,

Nice and it doesn't look half as complicated as October. Thank you, now off to look for fabric - probably back to the blues and greens.

It felt quicker but I prefer the other method as much less waste produced, it didn’t seem that necessary to me.

I couldn't get the print out so I did the 4 in 1 method.

Ok, Each to their own, they both produced marvellous results within the block.

I liked it because they really were spot on and cutting the material smaller than the designer suggested saved on the waste.

Because it’s accurate and quick I think it’s very good if not very confident and nervous about trying patchwork.  I’m planning to get my Mum to give it a go as she’s wanting to get into sewing more but doesn’t know what to start with.

Here's mine - needs a proper press.
The BOM exercise has taught me that I categorise HSTs as evils to be done only when necessary.  So I cheated (is it cheating?) and did flying geese instead.  In my defence m'lud I could only access it on my Kindle and couldn't print from there anyway.
Life's too short for ironing.
