Well since it looks as if this might actually get finished (well the top pieced anyway) it should probably have its own thread rather than just being muttered about in the daily thread.

Crikey Sewing Sue, what a thing to embark on. It must have taken you forever to get this far.  It's going to look fabulous.
Life's too short for ironing.

Actually I should check my diary and see when I started it - might even check how long ago I bought the kit  :|

 :| :| :|
Kit bought 2006

It looks as if I dug it out from the back of the cupboard back in August - after I had finished that baby bag.
So it has taken a few months, but then I hadn't done any FPP for years and it isn't an easy kit.

I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

Stitch length really is a lottery.
The shorter the stitch the easier to remove the papers, but after you have had to unpick a few mistakes normal stitch length looks like a better idea

until you start to remove the papers.

Depends on what you like doing the least - unpicking or removing papers.  :S Personally, I hate removing papers.

Well this is the first time I have had to remove that many sections of paper.
If I am ever misguided enough to do something as fiddly again I will go with short stitch length.

I don't blame you. It's going to look stunning when it's finished though. :)
