found a weaving / darning gadget

Have you ever seen anything likethis before? It looks very clever in the picture, but I have never seen anything like it in real life. I know some are expert menders of knitts, and some fancy shops can weave together holes and tears ivisibly in woven fabrics.

Fun is debateable, most of us rather watch TV or spend some time on the phone these days. It looks rather intersting though, resulting in very neat darning. I don't darn much at all, but I have found my self repairing a favorite item, or something nice I have found.

I have seen one before, many years ago, when I was a child. A neighbour had one to mend her children's winter tights, as they were expensive and we kids were always falling over and putting our knees through them. It was just a mushroom and darning needle in our house, none of your fancy technology  ;)
