If anyone has Christmas money burning a hole in their pocket these scissors are reputed to be superb.

Sorry, I tried to edit the url and even though it appears on my screen the edited version doesn't show on the board.  The correct link is:

Aren't they beautiful!  I may have to pass though... that's a lot of fabric money... and I bought a very nice pair of medium sized stork scissors from Calico Kate's just before Christmas.
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

I love the little boxes. Individual shaped boxes for sharp pointy scissors are a fab idea.

Very nice, and I really love the little wooden boxes - but I'd expect solid gold for those prices!

They are indeed gorgeous and someone is buying them, as some of the most expensive ones are marked 'sold out'. I won't be ordering!

Wow, won't be buying those!   Mine often end up being knocked into the waste bin.  I'd be too scared to use these.

Wow they are pricey! I was just looking at https://www.ernestwright.co.uk/index.php?route=information/information&information_id=12

And slightly flinching at the price... but these guys! They’re seriously pretty but the cost ouch!

At some of those prices, they would need to be magic. 0_0

The great thing about Ernest Wright scissors is that they are made in Sheffield. If you buy a pair of their dressmaking scissors you will never need to buy another pair.

I have a pair of Ernest Wright's and am disappointed with them.  However, this is probably more to do with my cutting technique (or lack thereof) rather than anything being wrong with the shears.

Really? What do you find to be a problem with them?

I have a couple of 20 yr old pairs of fiskars so don’t really count as the height of scissor appreciation.

The same problem as with all shears: I cannot cut with the throat and find it much better using the tips.

I really wanted a pair of Earnest Wright shears which my lovely husband bought me in the summer for my birthday. Like you UR I am disappointed with them. They were so stiff that I couldn’t open them with my thumb and forefinger. They seemed to be binding halfway along the blades so I sent them back to be adjusted. I still can’t get on with them and have reverted to my 30 year old Wilkinson Sword (fiskars)
