:vintage: I was roubdly chastised on PR for saying that computerized machine just cannot make a good buttonhole! But those of us that have old Singers with buttonhole attachments know better.

I just bid on one on eBay because the one that came with this  Singer 301A is very well-used and I fear it may give up the ghost. :button:

I'm afraid not then, as they're decorative.

Not to worry, i have just found 3 metres of double edged white broderie anglaise that i had forgotten had so considering making a shirt.
Thought i would share a photo of the top i made today for The Diva, just the tutu and paws to get done.
It's not easy being this perfekt

I was going to enter the top from the Dorothy outfit, but then I realised that it had blue ricrac round the neck and sleeves.

But, just picked up some luuuuvvly white laces, so got some to choose from.

When is closing time?  ;)

Update on my shirt - won't be altering it to cut off the  bottom. Wore it last night with skinny jeans and high wedge heels and got many compliments and asked where it came from and ( well this is France!) who it was by - snort, giggle!

sadly it was late in the evening and I was little too - er - tired - think of a witty retort!  Suggestions for a new French designer are welcome in case it happens again??

I've made a bit of progress.  Pattern and fabric chosen, one I've made many times before.  It was getting a bit tatty, so I printed a new copy off.  Under the influence of strong painkillers, after my fall, I cut out a toile....

Good job I did!  I'd forgotten to txfr the alterations!  ><  So, today I need to raise the dart and the armhole, and take the front neck in a bit.  No fb needed though.

Should be done over the weekend, but won't be anything like as pretty as Charlotte's!
