Love the fabric but it’s a bit too straight up and down for me...she looks lovely in it.

Meghan Markle is slim and can get away with style.  My size would make me look like a bollard. 0_0

Oh Burberry I love everything they do. I have a handful of Burberry bits  :| I saved this one on an inspiration board though I have no idea if it would ever be achievable!

Sadly I have no need of a coat - so I don't own one. I hardly ever get out, and it's not really cold enough in Cornwall. I had a beautiful red wool coat which sat in the wardrobe for 25 years. When I took it out it was covered in moth holes. :S We've since had new wardrobes but I shan't be replacing the coat.

I found a Harvey Nichol's coat of mine in a wardrobe at my Mother's.  I had forgotten all about it and it was covered in mildrew, which fortunately brushed away.  Must donate.

You’d need one in the Frozen North... and a vest!

@Francesca: that is a stunning coat, so I hopped over to the Burberry's website to look at all the women's coats.  I saw this

but that collar curls at the edges and at £2,495 I would not expect this to be happening.

There's a Vogue pattern for a straight coat which is a bit like MM's but it has princess seams which are a pain in tartan although not impossible. I reckon it wouldn't be difficult to knock up a Burberry knock off!

Apart from a couple of 'shop bought' raincoats I have several me-made coats. I love coats and jackets but I get a lot more use from coats given that the wind whistles through the Chrshire gap!

It would be nice to wear a coat ....... *sigh* ..... or even a heavy jacket ..... *sigh*. Oh well, I'll just sit looking at the rain every day. Now that's something I do know about - wellies, umbrellas, waterproofs, sou'westers etc etc etc.  :S

Kenora, perhaps we should get Meghan to come our way and see what elegant rainwear she comes up with.  (Actually, she probably does come here as we are only a stone's throw from Charles' Welsh dwelling)
